An easy to make fun festive treat that is simple enough to follow, even the kids can get involved!
Method
-
Pre-heat an oven to 190c and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
-
Cut your pastry sheet in half so you have two rough squares. Cut each square into the shape of a Christmas tree.
-
Create your protein chocolate orange spread by mixing the dairy free cream cheese, Kids Good Stuff/Clean Lean Protein, orange juice and orange zest together to form a paste.
-
Evenly spread the chocolate spread onto one of the Christmas trees and place the other pastry tree on top.
-
Transfer to the baking sheet. Using a sharp knife cut slits evenly on both sides about 2cm apart, leaving the centre intact.
-
Twist each pastry strip twice, pressing the ends into the baking sheet to retain the protein spread.
-
Brush with melted vegan butter and bake in the oven for 25 – 30 minutes until golden brown.
-
Once baked dust with optional icing sugar and additional orange zest. Enjoy whilst still warm.
